1000 Kilograms Of Goa  (English, Paperback, Rohan Govenkar)

This is one of those book which once you start reading it you will not like it to leave in in between. Each page, chapter have some new surprise and author have compiled the story nicely. Indeed this is one of my favorite book. You will find lots of Goan history. Apart from the beautiful story this book has a message in the end. Looking forward for another serious of this book.

Am always vary about new authors considering that the Indian publishers publish just any crap nowadays. Yet the title '1000 Kilograms of Goa' was a compelling one. Besides, having lived all life in Delhi, I was disconnected from the Goan community where I have my roots. So I had to pick this one, hoping to obtain some clues about how actual Goan people were.

A nice book about four friends, the kind of people each of us might have actually known in real life. When I first heard that this book is about a treasure hunt, I thought it would have a lot to do wtih caves, guard-snakes and strange trap-doors. But this one is a modern treasure hunt that happens in the middle of a village, and all the experiences are the common ones we face in our day-to-day lives. The author has made a lovely effort in pulling up this story in a reality-like, creative way....
