Summary Of The Book

VIT University or Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) is a prestigious technical institute located in Vellore, Tamil Nadu. It has been ranked among the top technical education institutes in the country. VIT is one of the universities that holds its own entrance exams for its engineering courses.

Like all the other engineering entrance exams, the exam syllabus for VIT closely follows the science syllabus for the 10 + 1 and 10 + 2 classes. It has four sections covering chemistry, physics, maths, and biology.

The entrance paper has four parts. The first part is chemistry, the second part is physics, the third part is mathematics, and the fourth part is biology. Candidates who are taking the exam to join engineering courses need to answer the first three parts of the exam. Those who are taking the exam for entry into bio-medical courses need to attempt the first, second, and fourth parts.

This book contains solved papers and mock papers that match the exam pattern of VIT.

All the sections contain objective type questions. Each section contains 40 questions, with one mark for each question. There is no negative marking. The questions are based on the State Board or CBSE syllabus for the school final years classes.

This book concentrates only on the engineering entrance parts, that is, chemistry, physics, and maths. The book contains two sections  The first section contains previous years’ exam papers of the Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Exam (VITEEE). This section consists of five VITEEE papers, from 2007 to 2011. The solutions for the questions in these papers are also provided in the book.

The next section contains mock papers. It has a set of practice papers designed on the pattern of the real VITEEE. There are a total of 15 mock test papers in the book.

The previous years’ papers with solutions helps students understand the syllabus, question types, and the general pattern of the VITEEE. It also helps them gain insights into solving the questions as the solutions have also been provided at the end of each paper.

The mock tests then reinforce the student’s knowledge of the subjects and the exam pattern by providing them good practice resources in the form of the simulated tests. Objective answers for these practice papers are also included in the book.
