3 Mistakes Of My Life by Chetan Bhagat is a book that is the Gujarati translation of the original in English by the same name. This work of fiction is a narration by the protagonist. The period in the book is the year 2000, and the story is set in Ahmedabad. This is the story of three young men who want to start a business of their own. Govind, Ish, and Omi set up a shop that sells cricket goods. They begin to see some setbacks to their dreams and face a variety of hassles in their business. They witness the politics of faith, tragedies, love that is not welcome, and finally the follies of their own. The inevitable question, however, is whether they emerge successful, irrespective of the mistakes they have committed. The question that remains is whether the achievement of dreams can act as a solace to the tragedy that has befallen them. The author has based this book on some actual incidents and attempted to portray the attributes and alienation that the youth of India has been facing.
Chetan Bhagat was born on April 22, 1974, in New Delhi. He is the author of bestselling novels such as Five Point Some One and One Night At The Call Centre. He completed his B.Tech from IIT, Delhi, and also completed his MBA from IIM-A. He initially worked as an investment banker in Hong Kong. Bhagat quit his career and became a writer.
