This book's front page claims ,, "India’s first book which will guide you, motivate.........." Oh really!! Actually it seems to be , writer’s first book :) ,
Look guys any vocabulary book, will get its words ,pages marked ,highlighted, underlined and for that the paper quality has to be good enough, contrary to this, the paper quality in this book is not that good. If I mark or highlight a word, this marking or highlighting can be seen from the back side of paper, in simple words the paper quality is not what a vocabulary book should have.
The vocabulary words which the writer wants you to learn are in bold font. The book is full of errors, and amazingly the writer wants you to learn some of the basic words too like, glimpse, stampede, vulnerable , evacuation, chunk, exposure ,fatal, etc.
On the other hand he thinks everybody know the meaning of words like Mylar, arable, numero uno , epitome, etc. and doesn't highlight such words and don't provide there meanings at the end of story.
Basically its just a copy paste compilation work.
BUT STILL the book is WORTH buying, hope in next editions these things get sorted out.

i am too old to take any of these tests but my daughters intend taking CAT and other mangmt entrance tests.
I am located in the Raipur area of CHATTISGARH,and though good, the school and college environment is not as happening as say mumbai , calcutta or delhi.Both girls are academically brilliant but i want them at par with big city students in knowledge of the modern world as well as english vocab. I found the book very good in both the aspects. Being Engg students, they don't get time to read magazines, novels ,and this book can act like a Booster dose for them.

The book is good like all the other Disha publications.
The stories are simply superb.

The word level is not satisfactory.
And also it is NOT exhaustive.
Also among 1304 word some words are very easy(e.g. The author has also taken words like SPOUSE)

The book will prove to be good for Beginners(ONLY).

These are media stories,not fictional stories -perhaps the author intends to engage students from a wide academic background.However the angle from which author has written is very unusual- for example how internet has changed various businesses as well as the society ; how will the future homes function; will pen/pencils become obsolete;why are the airlines always in loss?
The mini dictionary-within-the book concept is very handy. The level of word difficulty (in stories) is moderately tough, the synonyms seem tougher.Avinash Inamdar has tried to sweep the entire range of students from SAT to CAT.The book may interest even the grandparents.Elegantly written and printed.
