About the Writers

Vinay Dabholkar is an Indian entrepreneur and writer.

Rishikesha T. Krishnan is a professor at the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore. He is also the Director of IIM Indore, currently on leave.

Mr. Krishnan holds a fellowship from IIM Calcutta and has studied at Stanford and IIT Kanpur. His areas of interest are: Strategy & Innovation, National Innovation Systems and Competitiveness, and Strategy Implementation

From jugaad to Innovation

there are lot of books in strategic management but this book provides a unique Indian context of SM, its full of case studies and the authors make their point in a convincing manner. Innovation is stressed as the key to excellence and the way to excel in market competition. Its a nice compilation of the many cases in india from the not so very neatly organized Rural enterprises to the systematic I.T., all at one place.

Not a good book to buy !

While this Book received a lot of good reviews from a lot of people i know at IIM Bangalore . I even got a couple of mails with regards to the quality of this book from a lot of people. It seems everything was more of a marketing gimmick. If you are a well read person. You will find hardly anything new or innovative in this book. A compilation of innovation by a host of companies with hardly any research just global gyan . To be avoided if you are actually looking to innovate .

An insightful guide for Indian Innovation Managers

An approach to innovation in Indian context!

Now one more book on innovation is not exactly an innovative idea - but I picked up the book because the blurb promised an absorbing read. The book indeed lived up to its promise. Illustrated with numerous examples from Indian industry, various workshops; the authors logically build a case for their approach without making it pedantic.

I have been through multiple "IT" companies over the last 20 years, both MNCs, where the customer is far away, and in "purely Indian companies" where the customer is nearer.
