  • Description

A Twist In The Tale is an anthology of short stories by master storyteller Jeffrey Archer, and contains mostly stories that end with a plot twist.

    Summary Of The Book

A Twist In The Tale contains stories that all have a surprise twist at the end. The book has a collection of 12 stories in which what the reader and even the characters expect does not happen. In one story, a man murders his mistress and then tries to pin the blame on another man. Both are surprised by the discovery of what has really occurred.

Two rivals compete for public honors that leads to some unexpected twists. There is also a tale of a poignant romance between two persons divided by religion. A young man man resentfully agrees to his father’s insistence that he take up a job outside his father’s company before joining the firm. In the end, he surprises even himself by discovering his true passion. A corrupt government in an African country is cleaned up by a lone politician, who is then honored for his brave actions. He is then entrusted by his government with tracing the Swiss bank accounts of corrupt politicians. Which leads to an unexpected twist.

A Twist In The Tale contains more such tales, all with surprise endings. But it s not just the ending twists that interest the reader. It is the combination of plotting, characterization and the story telling skills of the author.

    A mixed bag

Jeff is my favorite author and is a superb story teller. But this one is not in the same league as "To Cut A Long Story Short". That was a class apart. Nonetheless, he is better than many, and is a master of the craft.
However, when he dishes out a story with Indian characters, he should check out things before going to the printers. He get's things wrong at times.

    The un-put-downable...

Though it is written by kids, even adult should read it to appreciate the creativity and learn the morals of each story. It amazing that how much can kids learn, discover and reproduce imaginatively.

    u can't tell what'll happen!and a deceiving stop to each story!

the book is an awesome piece of literature!in fact, some ending's are like twisted on the last sentence!the last paragraph of each story makes it most interesting!anyway,if u expecting a good long story, then u won't get it!cuz each story is altogether different from the other!

Interesting...269 pages NOT 200 as mentioned

I think that there is no need for any opinions on the content of the book. The following is the opinion for the particular edition by: PAN Books in 2003. Rather than being of 200 pages as mentioned in the description, the actual number of pages is 269. The paper quality is just about acceptable. the print is nice and dark which makes it prominent, however the spacing in between two lines is "single" which makes it (very) slightly uncomfortable to read.

However, at a hugely discounted price (...

    Second hand (used) product

The product I got is quite old and definitely second hand. Whereas nowhere on the site or in the product description does it say so. Flipkart should clearly mention if the book is used or new instead of duping customers by giving discounts. The price I piad for this used book is quite high. If I really wanted a used one I could have got it for much cheaper locally.
    Will be returning it.
    Disappointed with flipkart.
