I read this book in kannada 5 years back, its a good book, it gives information about our real history and how our historians changed history how they want....
Every indian must read thos book...

Bhyrappa in this novel tells history that is correct, readable and overall consumable by readers.

These are the kind of books those should be taught in Schools and colleges not some obscure version of fantasy that are being taught in today's classrooms. These are the books with which we can relate too.

The title was such a draw! I read it slowly, savoring each word. There were some portions where the story went a bit round and round but it came back to the original plot almost immediately, keeping me hooked. Loved the story.

This novel does raise points and questions about uncomfortable issues that affect our socio-political scene even today. The writing is fluid, relevant and interesting. One learns a lot of alternative historical views in the process as well about figures such as Tipu Sultan, Shivaji and events pertaining to demolitions of temples, various other historically significant figures along with fundamental questions raised about the issues of inter-faith marriages. A must read!

The title is a giveaway into what the book primarily deals with - the veiled & distorted history of India. The subject matter is thoroughly researched and yet presented in an easily readable story line. It is definitely a must-read for anybody in pursuit of a truer narrative of our country's identity and history
