Acer Iconia A500

Its a very good tablet with good features... But as there is no 3g support the pricing is bit high .. it should he less the 23k.... Then only its worth buying... I would definately buy this if it's less than that.

This tablet has good reviews in general. the only problem as of now is all the tablets are priced 100$ more in India. and believe me we don' earn more than yanks so it hurts your pocket.
a price point of 20-22k should have been struck as no 3G is available. Also the battery promised as 8h which am sure won't last more than 6-7 hrs.

Awesome tablet..completely worth it even comparing to its rivals in this price range is the best.. latest android honeycomb updated and the only tablet with a full sized USB port ..
this is the only tab we should buy at least at this point of time because the tab market in India is just boosting up and at the lowest price with all features compared to Moto Xoom and Samsung 750 this is any time worth it..!

-This tab has the same specks as the Xoom, and an extra, the USB port.
-I can jack in my HDD, and hilariously my mouse and keyboard. Mouse is not that useful (capacitive touch is a major thumbs up), but the external keyboard is always a winner, i didnt need to buy a "special" keyboard, just disconnect the one behind my PC and plug it into my A500.
-Not only that, acer surprised all a500 owners by releasing the latest ICS Android 4.0 update which was unexpected.
-Touch interface is smooth on ICS relative to the honeycomb, not that the 3.x is bad, but theres a noticeable smoothness to ICS.
-Its heavy as hell, my son got an iPad and the Iconia is a lot heavier.
-Battery life is good relative to the iPad, trust me, you wont notice it drain at all :))).
-Im yet to try USB 3g Dongles, but im sure itll work. I dont really think the dongle will do me justice as its expensive (the packages) at the moment and i get 24Mb/s at home via WiFi.

All in all its amazing, no matter what others have, i got a full sized USB port, thats a winner, it makes a big difference.

I have been using galaxy tab since last few months but I wanted a bigger screen to surf the net and watch videos in leisure. I was also looking for a device which I can use as media center for my TV, my search narrowed down to acer iconia a500. it is kind of love hate relationship. It had all the features I wanted but it came with its own drawbacks.

Pros.

1. 1ghz dual core processor.
2. nvidia tegra 2 GPU
3. big screen
4. ice creame sandwich version of android
5. screen rotation lock.
6. full size USB port and micro HDMI port to stream contents from internet and SD card.
7. good battery backup compared to other 10 inch screen

Cons.
1. lags response
2. display is not as crisp and bright as sony or Samsung tabs
3. most of the heavy games runs slow
4. too heavy and slightly bulky compared to other tabs.
5. it comes with a warning “twisting may damage internal parts”, it literally makes uneasy noise if you try to twist a little.
6. old style DC recharge socket, you can not charge it using an usb cable

if you love playing games this tab look for other options, it is too heavy to hold for long and it lags response, if you want a device to surf the internet and do not want to carry a laptop or net book and want a big screen go for it.
