Adoption Of New Technology And Agricultural Development

In this study an attempt has been made to identify the factors that influence the adoption or non-adoption of new technology in Indian agrarian situation in general and the agricultural situation of Barpeta district of Assam in particular. Identification of such factors would obviously help us to extent to know how we will be able to use modern agricultural technology for agricultural growth and what measures are to be taken by the govt. as well as by the farmers for adoption of modern agricultural technology.

Dr. Aftab Uddin Ahmed is lecturer in economics, at Barnar college, Baranagar, Dist. Barpeta, Assam. He has published several research articles in various nationals journals. He has also presented a number of research papers at university, state and national level workshops, seminars and conferences. Dr. Kanak Kanti Bagchi is professor of economics, in West bengal. He is supervising research works of students at M.Phil. and Ph.D levels. He has published many research articles in various national and international journals and five books including two text books at undergraduate level and three at research level.
