She gets lonely, and she's also curious to find out what her owner, a schoolteacher named Miss Judy, does for all those long hours while she is away. So one day Miss Chief decides to find out for herself. Noreen Hyde lives in Durham, New Hampshire with her family. Inspired by the real story of Judy Caseley, a teacher who did take her dog Miss Chief to her classroom as a reward for her students, Noreen's sister Kathy encouraged her to write a story about such an unusual educational experience. What started as a fun family story evolved into The Adventures of Miss Chief. Noreen is an English teacher at Exeter High School in Exeter, New Hampshire, where she has never had a canine attend one of her classes . . . she thinks. Marisa Pushee lives in Easton, Massachusetts. She currently attends Hampshire College in Amherst, Massachusetts where she is studying studio arts and anthropology. This is the first children's book she has illustrated, and she greatly enjoyed the project.
