Born on 22 May 1859 in Scotland, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle is most famously known for his character Sherlock Holmes and the stories he created around this character. He was a great writer and wrote science fiction stories, romance, plays, non-fiction novels, and poetry. Other famous books by him are- The Hound of the Baskervilles, The Sign of Four, The Valley of Fear, and A Study in Scarlet besides the Sherlock Holmes series. He was also a physician. He studied medicine at the University of Edinburg. His first piece of work, A Study In Scarlet, was taken up for publishing in 1886.
