Age Of Empires (Collector's Edition)

Well, I won't say much .. but I am playing this game (Mostly, the Conqueror's expansion) since past 9 years :)

I have also played other games like StarCraft II, Age of Empires III, Age of Empires Online, Warcraft III, Rise Of Nations ... BUT, None of them is as perfect as this one .. This is the best Medieval Real Time Strategy game ever made and it takes some real efforts to survive in Online Multiplayer .. (I play the MP via GameRanger). So, if you haven't tried it yet ... GRAB it NOW !!!

Simply best, and more fun when playing multiplayer. The Conqueror's Expansion is my favorite and I just love this game ...

P.S. : The players that are addicted to games like League of Legends, StarCraft II, World of Warcraft, Warfraft III, etc will find this games bullshit, coz they like their FANTASY gaming .. but in AOE, there is no FANTASY and No Magical powers and such kinds of stuff, No LAME Flying saucers etc .. It's clean and campaign is all History ..

Well I am playing this since last 9 years and I must say, I am not at all bored of it. AI is good but playing in LAN is somewhat altogether a different experience with adrenaline rushing on each and every minute of gameplay. It's really one of the best games till date. I have played other strategy games such as Civilization, Command & Conquer, AOE III and Stronghold but the AOE II ( Conquerors Expansion) beats them all hands down. I have heard that a new mod named "Forgotten Empires" is on it's way in the making and may be released anytime in 2012. Can't wait for it to release. Really looking forward to it. As someone mentioned before, playing with hostel mates on LAN is way too engrossing and addicting. Playing it for long hours without getting bored of it and learning from each mistakes which lead to a defeat and rejoicing every win with hours of analysis of each game. Ensemble Studios and Microsoft, hearty thanks for making this game.. :) I just love this game.

Age of Empires II is the best real time strategy game you would ever come across. The game is deigned excellently designed and is so perfect that no other game, even Age of empires III can beat it. Gameplay, Graphics, Campaigns, Multiplayer, Balance, anything you care to name is excellent in this awesome piece of software.

This game is designed for the world after the fall of the Roman Empire, when lot of civilizations rose and battled for control. The game covers most of the civilization but not all. The campaigns are interesting with top tier narration and make you wonder if history is really that interesting. Ample diversity in units and their style gives us an astonishing experience in playing this game. You will often find yourself playing this addictive game for hours together. This is the one of those rarest games that has the best balance between all the civilizations you can choose from. There is no one all-powerful civilization and each one can overcome the other. If you are clever you will always be able to overcome the other player.

This game can run on any machine that runs Windows 98 or above and comes with a five level difficulty that is enjoyable. The game is famous for its multiplayer option playable via serial or LAN or Internet connection. GameRanger and Voobly are famous clients for multiplayer-over internet for AOE. Voobly offers better protection against hacks but GameRanger is simple and fun to use with support for lot of other games too. More than a decade after the release of the game, it still has huge number of players worldwide, who play it on a daily basis.

Players who prefer fantasy or state of the art graphics will not prefer this game as it is more realistic and was developed a decade ago. The graphics is good and comparable to the modern games but never beats them (Come on, this game is 12 years old!!). Warcraft will be the game people in this category should be after.

I recommend you to buy this game be it for playing it yourself to enjoy or kill a lot of time, to decorate your showcase with best games that have ever been made or to gift young kids. The game requires some level of understanding and reasoning skills to play (which we can do easily with the interactive tutorial/campaign it has) that most of the players of this game are academically strong despite the fact that they spend lot of time playing it.

This is my all time favourite game (Conqueror's expansion). Not just any other run off the mill game.
A little complex but thats what makes the game interesting. Learning is easy as training is provided in campaigns.

But the real fun in playing the multiplayer version.
Playing against human players is much more stimulating than playing against computers. There is always a new strategy to play against and the opponent always get better with more plays.

We often used to play this game in hostel and the ones who used to play this game preffered it anyday compared to other games like CS.
We would play the game all night on fridays and spend hours discussing each game and analysing the statistics presented at the end of the game. Simply addictive.

This game is one of the best games of all times. When i was in 5th Std in 2001 i got my new computer and with it "Age Of Empires -2- Age Of Kings" (DEMO). This game is very complex- each civilization has its specialty (unique solders, buildings etc), Research to make your solders stronger Your building more powerful, Better and Beautiful Ages (Dark Ages, Castle Age) etc etc. And not to forget the Multiplayer- playing CBA maps with friends is an awesome felling (teamwork is key in winning Multiplayer). The only problem i faced is with "Registering the game online".... i am not able to register the game, when i try to register it directs me to the Microsoft page and after opening an account it simply says "Sorry, the page you are looking for is not available"

anyways, the game was delivered by flipkart in 8 days :(
