An ordinary man - thrust into extraordinary circumstances. A father torn from his family. A simple man caught in a struggle of good and evil.
Vikram Roy's life is turned into a living hell, over the course of a single fateful night. But, born of the fire and ash, is a man who refuses to lay down and die. Not while he has questions that need answering - not while he has someone to protect.
In his desperation Vikram Roy turns to an unusual education for answers and twelve years on, returns to his world changed - as Vira, The Aghori.
Now, he wanders the dark places where nightmares linger, searching for the one thing he loves, the one thing he must protect - at all costs.

I saw a teaser / prologue for Aghori in Ravanayan Issue 6 and was instantly intrigued by the concept! A superhero who goes after the supernatural creatures instead of your traditional run off the mill villains, wow! I had to see this and when I get my hands on the book I was simply blown away! It is a masterpiece!
First of all a huge salute to the creators for even imagining such a bold and different concept. I am sure the series will only get better with each book. The writing is dark and shocking and will keep you completely engaged. The art work is so good that you'll simply want to stare at a page for long before turning it over! The colors are so crisp and the entire feel of the book is something which we have never seen in the Indian comic book industry.
The thing that I loved the most about artwork is that they have created Indian characters in an Indian manner. They have body hair, their skin tones are akin to what we see in India and the detailing of their features is intricate. This is something which hasn't been done by other comic book makers. It simply helps me to relate further with the narrative.
Overall Aghori is a must for everyone whether you like comic books or not. Get it simply for its beautiful artwork and fascinating story telling!
After looking at the teasers and other promotional stuff of Aghori from Holy Cow Entertainment, I thought of this to be just another plain interesting comic book. But I was wrong! This is something totally out-of-this-world. Its not just interesting but the gritty, gory storyline enthralls you to read this book again and again.
The artwork is absolutely mind-blowing and the entire bloody and gory theme is so thrilling and scary that it actually sums up how EPIC this series is going to be. Perfectly set to become one of India's finest comic project/presentation.
Terrific stuff from HCE!
P.S.: I wanted my friends to read it. They borrowed my copy. Even though they read this already, they bought themselves their own personal copies in no time! Imagine!
I'm glad Ram V moved away from Marketing as a career, and ending up writing Aghori. The story catches the reader by the scruff of the neck right from page 1 and carries him/her through a myriad of mystery, fantasy, lust, and of course, NON-STOP Dark ACTION!
Kinda reminds one of the Hellsing series but completely original. THe Artwork is a feast for the eyes and I read the book over 5 times on day 1, partly because of the story and partly because I wanted to revisit the artwork.
I completely endorse Aghori as a must buy and am sure the route is only upward for Holy Cow.
Cannot wait for the 2nd Book!A BIG HIGH-FIVE to the Team behind Aghori.
REDEFINES GRAPHIC NOVELS!
When I had bought this comic, I had expected some spiritual insight of the Aghoris. I wanted to know of their powers and penances through the comic. But as a seeker of the occult, I was disappointed. There isn't any spiritual content or yoga in the comic. The story is mundane and worldly. As I believe through my reading of Robert Svaboda's Aghora, a real Aghori is one who avoids any worldly contact and remains withdrawn in the spiritual world. To resolve social evils and all that is totally out of the question for an Aghori.
As an adventure comic, I think this is as good as any. Also, there isn't any homour. The best aspect of this comic is its artwork... The artwork is great! But it also has adult content.
