Air Pollution

Biopollutants in areial environment are the source domain for causing diseases in crops, humans and animals. Concentration fo areial biological units (ABU) in air depends on geographical location, weather conditions and local source, if any. Along with a critical review on chronological developmetns of aeromycology in India, a key for visual identification of air borne particulates and comprehensive details of their occurence, distributiona nd diurnal patterns of sixty fungal taxa belonging to different taxonomic groups, the impact of ABU on disease developments in different crops Luffa, cylindrica, Cajans cajan and nine varieties of Brassica jucnea has been represented and clue for specific disease forcasting is discussed.

Dr. A.K. Srivastava, is pool scientists in the Pollution Control Division, Ministry of Environmenta and Forests, New Delhi (India). He received Ph.D. in Botany (Mycology and Plant Pathology) from Lucknow University, Lucknow, after earning M.Sc. degree from same university in Botany. His research activities in mycology, plant pathology, medical mycology and environemntal sciences has authored him in more than 30 original research papers, 5 review articles and a few books on medical mycology.
