Alcatel ICE OT 520D

Very Good Phone. I was looking for Dual Sim phone with some add features like FM and Bluetooth. Camera is not important for me, I have proffessnal caemra to click pictures. What I really like is Wireless FM Radio, hardly any phone has this feature so I was thinking about buying it, but was considering C2-00 as well since its nokia so a bit more reliable. So, comparision from my end was ovious. On the specs ICE OT 520D wins over C2-00. Comparing the features with other mobiles, this one has a bit bigger screen, camera is not so important but still this one has . Both has Bluetooth V2.0 So, Sterio Wireless Headsets and Handsfree calling with car sterios like Blaunpunkt MP56. Comparing the price Rs.1600 for 520D .. C2-00 costs Rs.2560.

Using 1 week, the following points i have observed about this mobile -
1. Sound is exceptionally loud, you can not keep volume at full.
2. camera in daylight is quite good.
3. caller picture is supported but not for all resolution, at particular resolution only.
4. Similar feedback for video also.
5. call quality and dual sim network changing are worth of praise.
6. battery back up is average.
7. music quality according to me not so good but for this price it's ok.
8. memory card slot supports only FAT and FAT32 file system. NTFS system memory card will not be detected. So format it carefully.
9. Sometimes, memory card slot specially slot 1 failed to detect memory card.
10. This mobile has ebook reader, but still now could not use it as pdf format is not supported.
11. Wireless FM is good enough.
12. Bluetooth transfer speed is good but tranfer through memory card to pc is very slow.
13. SMS sending is quite fast. Does not take too much time like samsung dual sims.

My overall verdict is, at price tag of 1900/- the features what u get are more than enough, and performance of this mobile is acceptable.

I am a person who likes to keep the talking and the smartness on seperate devices, so I rarely use my blackberry for calls. Now this is the best phone that I guess has helped me there. Usually low priced phones from other manufacturers have low voice quality, but this phone has a good mic and speaker.

The battery lasts for me 3 days, and I make and receive calls every 10 minutes for 16 hours a day, that is at least 100 calls lasting at least 2 minutes every day.

I have a warehouse located in a remote area where signal levels are low and not many other low end phones pick up the towers well, but this phone has another 5 stars in that department.

On the whole, a great buy. This one is going to stay with me for ever.

After using all BIG brands like Nokia, Blackberry, Samsung, i thought let me try Alcatel. after reading the rave reviews of the new ICE software, I went ahead and bought the piece for my mother. The signal is very good, voice clarity is equally good. The best part of even when the speaker is on, all of us can talk and other person can hear that with clarity. I think its a good deal for the price :)

The phone is good looking and light. I brought this for my Mom, who wanted a simple phone. The display is bright and the text is comfortable to read. Interface is very much similar to Nokia. The torch is nice. Comes handy at night.Simple interface makes it easy for a "not so tech savy person" to use.
If you are not bothered about the brand then this is a cool phone. I have used Alcatel phones before and the phone are pretty good.
In short, happy with the purchase.
