Book: Alicia And Egbert
The book is a book of dreams that reflect the desires of a boy growing up in Texas. It is a fantasy story. The author wanted the story to be different than the normal boy and girl story. It mixes time, place, incident, and reality into a stream of consciousness. It is a story of a boy and girl that replicates the memories, dreams, and times between 1924 and the present. History can be written in many forms. The larger scope of history is written with larger than life characters in larger than life setting of peace, war, love, honor, devotion, accomplishments, bravery, and all the other elements that make history exciting. This story uses some of these characteristics in the story, but it draws from dreams and fantasy as well. Growing up and living in America between 1924 and 2006 had to be one of the luckiest things that could have happened to any boy or girl, despite the trials and tribulations of the times. Sometimes it is easier to grasp the times from a mini-history, because it is at a more realistic level despite the dream and fantasy character of the story.
