A man’s guilt at the failures of his past return to haunt him in this classic war drama that captures the essence and time of the great wars of the twentieth century. All My Sons is a classic American play by Arthur Miller.

    Summary of the Book

Two men open a successful machine shop. They receive contracts to manufacture airplane parts during the great war. However, they manufacture defective products which lead to the deaths of twenty-one pilots. One of the businessmen, Herbert Deever, is imprisoned while the other walks free. Years later, Joe Keller leads a happy life. He takes care of Deever’s daughter, Ann. His son, Chris, falls in love with Ann and they have an affair. Yet, Joe’s guilt at the failed business and his partner’s imprisonment continues to haunt him. After the war, his other son, George, returns home, only to discover that his father has taken Deever’s place in prison. The play deals with his emotions and portrays those of a man who is crumbling from his guilt towards his friend’s fate.
