First and foremost, hats off to Flipkart for their delivery, packaging and the timing both just splendid... Now to the product, simply put it, Its a true 6-core power packed performing monster... If you're thinking bout any cons for this one, you won't be able to find any. Its performance is way better than any Intel i5 out there, almost as close as Intel i7, just at 1/3rd of the price... I'm enjoying every minute and penny spend on this processor, if only AMD advertises themselves more, they can wipe out Intel off the bloody market..!!
Bought the processor only to buy a PC to run Gentoo & Slackware. Up till now very good performance. Delivery by flipkart was awesome. I'm a little bit concerned about RMA scenario if anything ever happens to it. That's why my actual rating would be 4.5/5.
I have not OC'ed the processor yet but will test run it ~3.8GHz mark with D14 or H100 sometimes in future.
This Processor is quite excellent when compared to fx-8150 in terms of single-core enabled, and in multicore environment this lags very little behind fx-8150 in performance, but trust me with the same money if you buy an intel i3 processor, then the performance margin is huge with phenom x6 excelling in all departments of performance tests. Go for it, but if you have extra 5000 cash then go for i5 2500k which is far better than phenom x6 1075T.
I bought it last week from flipkart alongwith some other computer peripherals.
I hooked this processor with,
Corsair XMS3 DDR3 4 GB and ASUS M5A88-M Motherboard
Setup ran fine. The power hungry processor(rated 125W) was eating 141Watts without any overclocking. And I had to disable few cores to lower down power consumption.
Rating: 5star, got 7.4 out of 7.9 in WEI
Negatives: None(a bit power hungry)
After a lot of research I came up with this processor. I'm disappointed with it's heatsink, which doesn't cool the processor effectively. When playing battlefield 3 or batman AC temperatures reach upto 65degree's C. Talking about the performance it rockss. Reached 3480Mhz when overclocked with OC tuner.
With this great processor,AMD continues to be the best value for money brand. It's got six cores and the BE version has an unlocked multiplier. But I'd like to tell you that if you can afford it,go for a Intel Core i5 2400. It's got 4 cores(This one has 2 more),it's locked and it's motherboard probably costs more. Then why do i recommend it? No,not because i'm a intel fanboy but because the core i5 performs much better. The Intel processor has much better architecture, lower power consumption and supports dual channel memory. And it beats this processor at all the tests, even the multi-threaded ones.(Check for yourself).
This is a great processor! But if you can, save some money, and go for the much more costlier Intel Core i5 2400.
Very good processor at lowest price AMD Rocks The similar processor is too hard to get from Intel& also cost too much than that of the AMD I strongly recommend this processor.Very good deal Form flipkart
