About D. N. Jha
Dwijendra Narayan Jha has taught at various universities and other educational institutions in India and abroad. He was the President of the Ancient Indian History section of the Indian History Congress in 1979 and its General Secretary from 1985 to 1988. He is currently serving as Professor of History at the University of Delhi.

Nice book.
The book is a nice read- with simple, fluid language. Though, sometimes you might feel the view is little bit critical, but that depends on your point of view. We like our glorious past, this book may create doubts about that. Overall, a factual, compact book.

A true reference book!
I must say, this book serves the purpose perfectly. The best thing about this book is that there are interactive maps, which provide us more information and help us get an idea how big the particular empire was, etc.
I would really recommend this to all the history students and others as well who want to know about the Ancient Indian History in detail.
