This is a monumental work on the kings, princely states and people of Rajasthan. The author, James Tod, stayed in this area for 22 years from 1800 to 1822, and the last 5 as British Resident there. The chapters deal with the geography, the history of the Rajpoot tribes, feudal system, Annals, festival and customs and a narrative of the author. The book is in 2 volumes. James Fod is also the one who made the first British Map of Rajasthan. This book is a reprint of the 1873 edition.
