Groom Abduction or "Pakrauah Shaadi" so rampant in Bihar and Eastern UP is touched upon in Antardwand. The film is a peep into the reality that is mofussil India, a feudal India refusing to die, it's a story where everybody involved pays a heavy price for the ugly patriarchal power play....it's a society rotting while the country surges ahead to be a global power. Antardwand is a film that stokes the sensitive, thinking viewer's life, concern and empathy.

the film boasts of some fine performances.... Vinay Pathak and Akhilendra Mishra are immensely watchable... while the younger cast delivers itself well too.... director Sushil Rajpal narrates a poignant story with precision..... realistic and awesome cinematography by ace cinematographer Malay Ray.... Antardwand has deservedly been applauded with the National Award for Best Film on social issues 2011.
A very good potrayal of patriarchal and feudal society as it exists in today's India. The continous struggle between tradition and modernity, the prevailing mafia kind of enforcement of decisions on the young by the older generation, the ills of the dowry system have all been well captured in the film. A must see for all.
Finally got my Copy!! I had been waiting for years for the film to release on DVD, for all my friends and family who missed it. This film is very close to my heart and has some good performances.

This is one of the best movie of 2011 on a social issue. This film got very little publicity as it was not backed by Business House but FTII.
Do yourself a favour, buy the DVD and watch it, you won't repent.
