The title may sound a bit pompous, but this is a superbly well documented collection about some of the most successful hedge funds in the world. It also gives their history over the past 50 years. There is this sense of credibility gap after finishing the book. Several chapters in this reveal how wealthy, powerful and potentially dangerous some of the funds really are. If you wanted to know everything you can about hedge funds and a couple of days to spare ...this is the book for it.

Starts off with the very "first" hedge fund of how it came to be and goes off into how the whole industry evolves. As such the story line is pretty linear and in each chapter or section , the author focuses on a particular fund.

Dont get me wrong, this is a pretty lite read.....doesnt go into too many unnecessary details and has an interesting look at the people who made it big.
