Third in the series of some fantastic piece of writing by Hosseini, this book traces the journeys of a brother and sister through years. The plot of the book is slightly crowded at places but the emotional content is par excellence.

In particular, the character of Nila brings out the paradox between modernity and tradition in the Afghan society. Though the story is set in war ravaged Afghanistan, it relates beautifully to any of the developing countries, including India.

This book was a highly anticipated book for me, I preordered it months in advance. I have read both his earlier works and so for me it is certainly his 'least best' of the three.
I didn't like the way different characters speak in first person and Also because of dealing with so many characters and so many different periods of time, the author is unable to reach out in depth for any of the main characters.

This a fantastic piece of literature. Its awesome. It's nicely written and every word will really keep the reader in an imaginary world which shows the life of a loving brother and his sister. The novelist ,i.e, Khaled Hosseini has really created another marvel by writing this book. He will keep arising your emotions throughout the story and you will never feel it is very long or something of that sort. On gross I must say this is a wonderful book
