A God In Every Stone

A book written beautifully, it leads you into the past, making you want to live there forever. The characterisation brings Viv, Qayyum and Najeeb to life, and that too quite vividly. A must-read for someone who is interested in the sub-continent's history.

Interesting Historical fiction

When I ordered this book, I was only interested in the title and curious to read. While reading the book I was totally immersed in the book reasons
the narrative style particularly the way the frames of story though repeated its focus on the character that is in the frame - I see this style in the movies which needs lots of skill to make the reader hook to the book
The way historical incidents that were portrayed
On the whole the book is gripping with plot, style of narration

Kamila is a subtle writer, assembling worlds through a painstaking layered accretion. I...

A Must Read

This book was a highly anticipated book for me, I preordered it months in advance. I have read all her earlier works and for me it is certainly her best among all. A must read for everyone.
