Finest detective novel but not vogue anymore
The book is about a diamond, Moonstone, that had been protected by the hereditary guardians on the orders of Vishnu. The plot drives around this diamond which was stolen by an English army officer while working in India and 3 priests who can go to any extent to retrieve it back to place it where it actually belongs to, the forehead of an Idol in India.

Very Nice Book
This is considered as FIRST DETECTIVE NOVEL... and I tell u, it is one the best. the book has unique narration style by multiple characters... its much better then novels of current times... also glimpse of indian history and english outlook of indians is very nicely presented
