Highway on my Plate: The Indian Guide To Roadside EatingHi Guys, the book is a listing of the places we have covered on the show so that people who wanted to visit those places could do so. this limits us to putting whatever we have covered on the show in the book. So while there may be hundreds of good eating places in a city we will put down those we have covered. ONLY. Its useful if you go to a town you have never been to and want to try out A lunch or A dinner at a famous 'local' place. As for more pics it would mean the cost going up prohibhitively. and now you know :-) .. cheers

Extremely disappointing bookExtremely disappointing book; especially after having high hopes upon watching the TV programme. The maps are erratic. Why the writers should include places which they feel "avoidable". We expect them to guide traveler on nice places on highways so that they do not search for avoidable places. Ratings are confusing versus the write ups. Unable to understand the message they want to deliver to the travelers. But good thing is they have rating categories which people themselves may re-assess. Missed many good and well patronaged outlets. Disappointment to such an extent that a refund from the wr… (Expand)

A disappointment after the tv seriesEven though HOMP has become an advertisement show now, it used to be one of the better Indian produced food (and travel) shows. Rocky being the real star!

Need to add more pictures with locationThe show was good, but while reading the book I feel that they need to add more picture, then it will give some idea. Other wise it will be mundane, disinteresting and useless.

Waste of money and effortI am a great fan of the TV series so naturally I bought this book. But after going through it I found it to be very mundane, disinteresting and useless. Details in the book about various places are grossly insufficient and many of the better eat outs have been excluded from its coverage. It has absolutely zero images and the book looks like a big boring read in itself. Hence highly avoidable to buy this book.
