It is my first ipad. I had little difficulty in choosing between iPad and Samsung galaxy tab 2, which is similar product in that range. I choose iPad becos to have different experience with Mac os.

Coming to iPad : There is no problem at all. The touch wizard is superb. Battery backup is almost one day with normal usage. There is no lagg at all. Camera is decent. Pictures have grain textures.

IN WIFI+CELLULAR, SIM IS FOR DATA ONLY. CALLING THROUGH SIM IS NOT POSSIBLE IN IPAD. IT IS BETTER TO BUY A WIFI MODEL AND GET AND ADDITIONAL WIFI HOTSPOT DEVICE AND SAVE 8000Rs.

I was looking at iPad Pro + Apple Pencil combination as my requirement was to write (tons of) notes in PDF files. Given the steep price of pro combo I took a chance on older iPad Air 2. It fully met my requirements and then some.

Acrobat Reader iOS app has lot of functionality for taking notes and annotate PDFs. Apple Pencil with pro would have been more precise but our human fingers are more than enough for taking free-hand notes with iPad Air 2.
