April's Peak

When young April McKenzie leases a mountain that she wishes to study from an Irish-American billionaire, her life takes a sudden and startling turn as he becomes her benefactor. April and her widowed mother soon find themselves subject to increasing measures of practical largess as the old man helps April with her dreams and sponsors her education as a geologist. Soon, April is caught up in overseeing all his commercial interests in Alaska and instituting a vast geological exploration program in the land holdings. But April's love for her mountain is exceeded only by her love for a young English mathematician. April's marriage prompts her benefactor to look to the future. While he continues to pour money into the mountain project, he has other plans for April and her husband, to ensure his legacy is in safe hands.
