Daniel only planned on learning enough to build a ship so he could explore when he left home to go to school on Mars. He knew about the wars out in space, and about the rumors of terrifying and powerful aliens, but he thought he could avoid all that and maybe make some friends while he was out there. He didnt expect to get drawn into things he didnt understand, and he didnt expect the technology he was learning to be too dangerous to trust with the people who were teaching him.
