Book: Around The World In 80 Days
Around the world in eighty days, a classic novel by the French writer Jules Verne, was first published in 1873. Set in the early 1800's, before there were planes or high speed vehicles so that it took a long time to travel, this book is a fascinating adventure story filled with action and romance. The main character in this story is Phileas Fogg, a wealthy Englishman. He made a bet that he could travel around the world in no more then 80 days. He risks his entire fortune on this bet and sets out along with his French valet Passepartout to circumnavigate the world within eighty days. Fogg travels across 4 continents and makes 12 stops around the world. Throughout his journey he meets many people and gets into many dangerous situations. This fantastic expedition ends with Fogg winning his bet with only a few minutes to spare.
