Summary of the book

He is the member of Reform Club where he reads an article in The Daily Telegraph, which speaks of traveling around the world in just 80 days. After a brief argument on the same, his friends at the club raise a wager of twenty thousand pounds, which he would receive if he does go around the world in 80 days. He sets out and reaches India. He and his male servant meet a young Indian woman. The story takes many twists and turns in due course of their journey together. Will Phileas be able to win the bet? What role does the woman play in his life? With a tightly knit story, Around the World in Eighty Days makes a delightful story to the adventure novel lovers.

Jules Verne was a French poet, playwright and novelist. He is known very well for his adventure novels and science fiction. Along with H. G. Wells and Hugo Gernsback, Verne is also referred to as ‘The Father of Science Fiction’.
