Read this book. Impressed how the colonial Brits dug up the past history of Buddhist India. Well without their pioneering zeal this history would have been totally lost under Hindu bigotry. Which indeed happened. Hindu resurgence and consequent decline of Buddhism followed by successive Muslim invasions had totally obliterated a glorious past.
