When the land is engulfed by injustice and oppression, a civilized woman with an ancestry that's linked to slavery will rise to free the oppressed from their tyrants. A historical action-adventure single-player stealth game that’s developed by Ubisoft Sofia and Ubisoft Milan and published by Ubisoft for the PC, Assassin's Creed III: Liberation is set close to the end of the French and Indian War between 1765 to 1777 in New Orleans. This game follows an African-French assassin named Aveline de Grandpre who is born to a French nobleman, a merchant, and an African woman, a slave. Having grown up in a world that is ravaged by despots, Aveline seeks to exact revenge and bring about justice so everyone can live in peace and harmony. The storyline is not linked to Desmond Miles who is central to the rest of the Assassin’s Creed games, rather, this game is released by Abstergo Industries, a corporation within the game, who have found a way to extract memories of an individual and put it in a medium through which others can experience the thoughts of the former. Why they are selling the memories of an assassin is a mystery that will unveil itself once you play the game.
The gameplay is very much alike to Assassin’s Creed III. Here, you have to play as Aveline and climb trees and freerun past the denseness of the forest so as to accomplish your objectives. Apart from this, a persona system has been implemented where you can put on 3 guises, i.e., an aristocratic and elegant woman, a soft-spoken slave girl, and a vengeful assassin; each of these disguises have to be used to make your way through tricky situations and get the objectives done. Combo kills and double-counters add to the action of the gameplay. The weapons that can be utilized include a variety that were offered in the prequels as well as axes, cleavers, hatchets, a whip, blowpipe and pistols.
