Good book overall!

The book follows the story of the Assassins Creed 1 and Assassins Creed: Bloodlines; a PSP exclusive. I did play the first AC, but i still found myself avidly reading the first two parts (which deal with the first game). Great going this part was, the game events described expertly, and it did have the feel of an "Assassin's Creed". The third part was new to me since i didn't play bloodlines, but sadly found it lacking in steam compared to the AC1 parts. The narrative went wayward, and i was having a difficult time remembering who last captured Maria and when, and how was she released again. The fourth part, which tells the story of an old Altair, picked up the pace again, and finished the book on a high. The book follows closely the stories of the games, but it did include some new bits, like kid Altair and his rivalry with Abbas, Altair's father and his death. Good book overall, despite the sluggish middle section. Those who haven't played the first game but want to catch up with the story would definitely want to read this, but also recommended to the hardcore AC fans or to the curious layman! You won't be disappointed ;)

A Nice Buy For Hardcore-Fans Of The Series

Since I was confused why the author released this book as the 3rd part when it should've been the 1st, I bought this one first, then the actual first part, and read the books further on in the order.

I must say, the author happens to make the story look far more respectable, but in doing so he bores the hell out of the reader(in the case of a casual gamer who likes to play the story more than actually reading it). This book is more likely to be appreciated by those who loved the story and like the way things unfolded in the game. However, for a casual gamer who loves the gameplay and LIKES the story, this may not be the right choice. But you never know when a casual gamer may start loving the book!

This book tells the complete story of 'Assassin's Creed 1', 'Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines' and a part of Altair's later life(which I suppose comes in 'Assassin's Creed: Revelations'). If you happen to be interested more, this book's name comes from the same name as that of a book by Niccolo Polo in the series. It is like a story narrated by Niccolo from his point of view, as he tells the story of Altair to his brother when the two visit Masyaf, Altair's home-town(Altair is still living in the book's timeline).

Caution buyers! Dont pay heed to an over-critic!!

Guys, there is this Kiran who is always criticizing the Assassin's Creed Books. I played all games from Altair to Connor and then started with the books, first being Altair's story, of course. And Kiran, I wanna tell you that these books aren't THAT bad as you think. Because it has an extremely good and interesting story. And the best part is that although the author has omitted Desmond and company, he never even altered the story once regarding the storyline. I admit, he did change some trivial facts. And if he would have included Desmond, Altair's story would seem incomplete at certain points, which DID in the game. Good thing that Desmond has retired from being in the books. So guys, I suggest you to give a try to these books. i hope you won't find anything stupid here other than the replica of the historical story.

The Secret Boring Crusade...

Its a Combination of:

1. AC1
2. AC Bloodlines [PSP]
3. The AC Revelations history that Ezio sees through the Discs that he gathers

This books reveals Altair's life history and also shows how boring it can really be, when he goes on stabbing one guy from another. And the highlight of the novel is, he doesn't seem to go down, even as he progresses from young age, to old (80), becoming the Grand Master of the Assassin Order.

If you really are interested in the AC storyline, I would prefer you play the games. That would be way way better than reading through this stupidly written book.

Even 2 stars is a decent waste of time and effort. This review is to prevent others from making the same mistake that I did.

Yours,
Kiran.

Great Adaptation

I have played the Assassin's Creed Games and now that I've started reading the book, I can say this is a very precise and detailed adaptation without any discrepancies from the game. Oliver Bowden's writing is great and the novel has come out pretty good. I would recommend this book to both Assassin's Creed Fans and Not Fans but Generic Readers.

Now about the service - Flipkart has never dissatisfied me. I love the service. :)
