This Asus DVD/RW is the best R/W that I have ever had. I have tried following DVD R/W in the past years:
1. Sony - WORS,T I have bought many of it.
2. LG - WORST
3. Moserbaer - OK OK
4. Asus, bought it 10 days ago :)

It has been only 10 days and I have Writed over 100 DVDs and Works fine. Other DVD RW gave up at 50-60 DVD.

So Go for Asus, if u have heavy usage.

This is a good product. The buffering speed is good and the readability is superb. It didn't take even 30 secs to read my disc full of .mkv movies. (My last drive took almost 2 minutes to read). A reliable and good product. Go for it!!

I am using a Sony DVD writer which get malfunctioned within a month.
Then later after my research i came to know that all the hardwares were absolutely fine..Only the problem was of SMPS(Power Supply)due to which the hardwares were malfunctioning.The hardware failiure usually causes in certain periods due to improper voltage supply to hardware components.So always use a good and branded power supply unit like of Corsair & Cooler Master.You have to invest in SMPS just for once as branded smps ...

My compact disc usage is very low. This DVD writer does come into use the rare times I need to watch a family occasion or install some special OS or driver. So, I cannot talk about the read/write speed or quality—it gets the job done.

The low ratings go for the build design. The tray stopped sliding out to the full extent within 3 to 4 months. Now, it slides to around 70%, thus, allowing me to slide in a disc. That makes it still useable but a defective product.

Delivered On time and nicely packed quality is great and reading capability is great too.. had few scratched disks worked smoothly on it, thought it was a pain in ass trying to run the same disk in Samsung drive. write speed is 16x not 24 but i am ok with it cause it comes with 3 year warranty and is like almost silent old drive used to make too much read and write noise and vibrations to..but this is totally great product..

Please note that: you have to buy SATA cable from outside to install in PC because there is SATA cable slot and cable is not provided by company. I bought it from out side for Rs. 20 /-.

I bought this to update an older computer could not believe the ease of installation and the way it has improved the old xp machine..Flipkart price and delivery is always the best .Keep up the good work
