Asus Eee PC 1015CX-BLK019W Netbook Intel Atom/1GB/320GB/Linux

Asus is certainly the best when it comes to netbooks(they were infact the first ones who created this segment with the Eee pc line)...the battery performance of asus computers have always been their major USP compared to there competitors.

But unfortunately the major draw back with this model is that the RAM cannot be upgraded and this really spoils what would have otherwise been an awesome netbook as the N2600 processor can handle 1080p videos and better graphics.
Another issue is that it has a heating problem.

But, I would recommend to wait for the N2800 series of processors or go for the 1015PX model(i.e if you can get hold of it, cos its out of stock in most places). The ram on the 1015Px is upgradable and I have been using it with windows 7 ultimate (with 2gb Ram)and its been running smooth as silk:)
The 1015PX is still the No.1 netbook in the market so far.

the product mentioned is not having bluetooth though it is claimed on the site. i bought it because of an additional feature of bluetooth available in it but did not find in this model for which complaint has also been given. battery life is as it is claimed which is good.

Got this product in 48 hours in Delhi!! Flipkart delivery is gr8.

Pros: LED Display is amazing. Sharp images/letters. Struggled bit for installing windows from USB Drive, but then that was due to ignorance of Flash Boot. 1GB memory is enough for normal browsing/chatting. Battery backup is good. I am getting atleast 7 hours, have not checked beyond that. standby time is too good.
Charger is like mobile-charger!!

Cons: Speakers are bit Low volume. Ubuntu worked only for 800X600 resolution. Still have not been able to use HDMI to LCD TV but have not tried much either. Gets Warm up after couple of hours of work.
Easy RAM upgrade should have been there. It does not have an external slot. Still to figure out where to go in asus for upgrading it to 2GB.

this is another amazing product from asus n once u have used it u will know that that it works much much better than what we just read about in its specifications.....
pros:
1.price:its the best product one can get in this range
2.functioning:its a breeze to work in it....even though it has 1gb ram,everything works in it fine....n at good pace too...loading windows home basic(if u want to upgrade it),was smooth n fast
3.looks:although it mostly plastic...it does not looks cheap at all...chicklet style keyboard is good for typing
4.battery:battery is best compared to any other device...it easily works beyond 9 hrs with a single charge
5.ports:all standard ports present...3 usb ports,with 2 placed side by side(imp if 1 needs an external optical drive)...has HDMI too :)
6.convenience:its light(just 1.2 kg)...so one can carry it without any fuzz

cons:
1.ram CAN NOT be upgraded...but u don't need to upgrade it anyway
2.bluetooth does not seem to work(tried to pair a lot of device with it)....but wifi woks perfectly
3.sound is not the best,but works fine...usind a head phone will solve the problem

so there is no reason to look down upon this netbook for just lack of a 2gb ram....u can easily use it with out any regrets :)

Comes with Asus Express Gate OS preloaded. Not bad if you want to use it only for social networking and email. I loaded Win XP - needs a bit of tweaking but can be done. But this is a "recommended win 7" device - meaning no drivers exist for Win XP. Some of the win 7 drivers work for win xp too, but VGA, audio etc dont work. Same case for Ubuntu. So if you want a highly functional device, you should install win 7, which will increase the cost by a couple of thousand.
