What is the display panel type of this laptop?
There's a lot of confusion over the internet.
Asus G551JX comes with 3 types of display:
1. HD (1366 x 768 pixels) with EWV
2. FHD (1920 x 1080 pixels) EWV LED Backlight
3. FHD (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS
Now we know it's an FHD display, but which one? EWV LED Backlight? Or IPS?
Flipkart, please update the correct panel type. The screen type is one of the most important factor here.
Other than this confusion this product looks fantastic.

awesome laptop at its price
i got this laptop for around 79000 from the local dealer here in nashik. everything is good in this laptop except for screen. i am not saying that the screen is bad but its viewing angles are not that great but for watching movies,youtube videos this laptop is great and as good as other laptops. another thing to be mention is that some people are saying that it has ips panel but it does not.in india you wont get ips panel and this type specifications for the money you are paying.and one more ...

worth its price point...
Pros:
1. beautiful design (some people seem to complain the plastic finish) for me its not very heavy and design wise i think it can sit well with its bigger brothers.
2. 4th gen... I was planning to buy 5th gen processor but were not performance chips so settled for this and its worthwhile (my real wish is skylake -6th gen intel but this settles well)
3. Performance- really good performance with the games i played - skyrim, remember me..etc.
4. screen is full HD 1080p and matte finish and IP...

Is Awesome At the Given Price

I Recently bought this product and is good to use, Upgrading from a Dell XPS 15 (L502X) this is a huge step towards Performance for me, Looks and feel of the laptop is good got the mentioned bagpack,mouse,and Cerberus asus rog headset with it so i can give a 5/5 for the description for the whole laptop. Buying Point for me was the 16 gigs of ram which u cant find in other Dell or Hp laptop with a 90k price tag they are all above 1lac (Yes there are 16gb ram laptops which are 10-20k cheape...

the hardware is nice but the display is the damping factor it has a non ips panel the same panel in lenovo y50 model AUO36ED worse colour reproduction , have to replace this with ips or a compatible 4k panel from its higher end model g501 jw,this thing is a finger print magnet

Asus g551jx vs Asus g551jk
One thing i dont get is Asus g551jk costs around 80k with 8gb RAM, GTX 750M but on the other hand Asus g551jx costs around 82-83k with 16gb RAM and GTX950M. Huge variation in specs yet minor difference in price. Something smells fishy!!! Other than that, BEAST....

Drag down the screen and compare the specs..... Loaded with 16gb ram, nVidia gtx 950M and an intel 4720HQ @2.5 GHz.!! Now go to the site gamedebate.com..., and check the rating of the game u wanna play...NOT EVEN A SINGLE GAME WILL DISAPPOINT YOU...! the ROG is a well built laptop comes with a integrated cooling system.... and ofcourse the LOGO.. its awesome.!! the frame rates of Witcher 3 is around 40 FPS at Medium settings...which i am sure no other laptop(s) will able to give you..at 1080p...
