Why only Asus?
I have been using this MotherBoard since last one and a half year with Athlon II X4.
worked perfectly for 10 months.
Now, it crashes every two hours. Sent to ASUS while in warranty, they say its all right. And now warranty period is over, but problem is not.
Swapped the power supply twice.
Still it keeps crashing for some unknown reason. No beeps, no errors, no indications whatsoever.
In win 7 it used to say LOW POWER for 100ms or so before crashing (WTF I am using a desktop with 350W power supply), In XP it gives nothing.
You have to individually update each and every driver (that too if available. Mostly you'll be left on legacy ones with no updates.). They provide loads of applications but nothing useful. Anti surge keeps kicking for no apparent reason even with a UPS (so I turned it off a long time ago).
I had a MSI board which is still working perfectly from last 7 years in my old PC. MSI provides an app to download and install all the drivers in one go and that too with regular updates.
Needless to say, I will replace it soon.
Value redefined.
This little board just screams value. Backed by ASUS' trademark quality and features, it's the perfect board for building a home HTPC/entry-level gaming machine. It unlocked my Athlon II X3 into a stable Phenom II X4 effortlessly, at the touch of a button. It has pretty nifty overclocking options as well, for users who like being on anything but stock! Definitely recommended for those on a shoestring budget.
