not to describe flipkart's excellent services as everyone is fully satisfied with them, this motherboard has every feature you can get in a motherboard

First of all, I'm not a hardcore gamer or anything, but sometimes i do play some high graphic games like crysis2 and NFS The Run.

So now to my personal opinion and experience ; I cannot be more satisfied with this motherboard. When I opened the box and took it in my hand I was truly amazed by its built quality and design. I've fused the AMD Bulldozer FX-4100 procesor, 4gb corsair xms3 (1600mhz) and XFX HD Radeon 6770 to this mobo and I'm so much satisfied by the way this whole package performs! I was on a very tight budget and I had to get the most out of my components and I'm so damn happy about the whole package. (every single component is selected by myself)

Pros ;
1. 2x usb 3.0 ports
2. Inbuilt graphics - 1gb shared, hd radeon 4250 (hdmi dvi d-sub ports available)
3. Amazingly built

Cons ;
1. No cross-firing ( have only 1 pci-e x16 2.0 slot)
2. No UEFI Bios

I took this mobo instead of my other choice (asus m5a97 - newer chipset, slightly better performance and with uefi bios) because this mobo, m5a88-m, have display ports available making this a replacement to connect your monitor in case anything goes wrong with your discrete gpu.

I bought this mobo and paired it with an AMD 8150-FX. I am aware that another reviewer had said that his mobo had required flashing to enable it to be used with an 8120-FX. However, I did not have this problem and my CPU was supported out of the box.

Much of this has to do with the the Asus BIOS revision. I had rev. 1100 - the 8150-FX is supported from rev. 0502 onwards. To know your BIOS revision look at the bar-coded sticker on the mobo near the 24V connecter. The last 4 digits will give the BIOS version.

If you do have a problem, call up Asus Customer Care (India) and they will direct you to a local service centre where they will flash it for free.

I also use 16 GB of GSkill and this works fine. There are overclocking features which I haven't used (don't intend to either considering India ambient temperatures).

I use Fedora (17) 64-bit and all mobo features are recognised just fine. The onboard 4250 is recognised and 3D features enabled with the open-source Gallium right after installation so Gnome-Shell works great. fglrx will probably improve performance - but I am yet to try it out.

Linux users - Buy!

hi have planned to buy a motherboard to have some gaming experience and landed up in Asus M5A88M board. bought it in flipkart in EMI option and eagerly waited for the delivery. i got my board within two days. after installation the board worked fine hardly for one week without any problem. later i had my first problem in RAM slot and took it to service station and it got serviced later on the have got the below problems within 6 months s
2nd - Audio problem - Serviced
3rd - mother board dead - got replacement.
4th - audio problem - serviced
5th - audio problem - serviced
6th - motherboard dead - replaced with already used board.
7th - audio and usb port problem - serviced

and now am not able to connect internet and having audio problem again. i have changed all other component from UPS to SMPS only for this board but still the problems continues. i got tired of taking it to service station. i talked to the person who is working in ASUS service station and came to know that this motherboard (M5A88) having some architectural problem. so many people face so many problems. Think wise and go for a better brand. i dont know abt other models in ASUS. at last i planned to buy and new board now.

In Rs.5000.00 range, this is one of the best motherboard for AMD processors. AMD 880G Chipset and AMD SB850. True USB3.0 and SATA3 (6 Gb/s). AMD Radeon HD 4250 onboard graphics. What more can you expect at this price-range. And of course Asus's great build quality. Very nice board.

I built a PC for my friend. I added Radeon 5570 graphics card; but I'm sure the onboard graphics card itself has enough juice for normal applications and low-end gaming.

Available cheapest on Flipkart. My local hardware retailer (Data Care Center / DCC, Pune) quoted Rs. 6500.00 for the same board. Flipkart gave me at 5200 and that too reasonably fast shipping.

Cons: I would have preferred to have a USB3.0 port in the front. This board has 2 USB3.0 ports - both in the rear. Of course you have a lot (upto 4 headers) of USB2.0 ports for the front.

I'm very happy with this product. Highly recommended.
