Asus RT-N12 LX 300Mbps Wireless Router

I want to clarify something in detail. I've SITI Broadband connection. I have a android mobile device and a desktop and I am planning to buy a laptop. In spite of having a broadband connection , I had to spend a lot to access internet on my mobile device. So, I was looking for a wireless router. I want to tell something more about my broadband connection. A CAT5 cable came directly to my home with a RJ45 port. I don't have need a modem. So, I was worried about the compatibility issues. I saw many video tutorials and visited many websites but I didn't find a perfect solution that could help me to buy a perfect router for my connection type. After a long search I came to know about the ASUS RT-N12 Wireless Router. I saw it on Flipkart for the first time. After reading all the reviews I decided to buy this product. The review that helped me most is http://www.flipkart.com/user-profiles/shafi.abdul-6807 . I received the router within two days. The packing was too good. I don't have knowledge on networking. But the router settings is too easy. I just inserted my CAT5 broadband connection cable into the WAN port and one side of the CAT5 cable that has come with the router box inserted into Ethernet port of the router and another side into the desktop's Ethernet port. Then I turned my router on and configured it within a while. The signal strength is awesome. I am receiving signal more than 100 meter far from my house. Don't pay attention to those who are telling this router is not good. Its the best,its the best,its the best router.

Needless to say about the flipkart's excellence in delivery. Kudos..!!!

When i opened this router, first thing that inspired me was the design, it was very cool, stylish. Lets talk about the configuration. I am not any expert in router, infact this is my first wireless router. I know the basic hardware setup, but configuration part i know nothing but with some faith i opened the router console, entered into the quick setting mode, entered the username password of the broadband, but it was a fail, in the second attempt i defined a MAC to this router same as my pc's mac. bang..!!! it straight away connected.

Now come to the wireless part, i setup a connection using WPA2-PSK, it is very very easy to setup. but initially my phone didnt recognize the wifi connection, but when i changed the channel from auto mode to '1' the magic happened momentarily.

Important thing, Signal strength. within 20 ft with 1 wall crossing, the signal strength remains excellent, when it crosses 2 walls the signal strength shows "good". this is fantastic.

A Pure plug and play device, i didnt install anything, the utility CD is sleeping happily in the pack.

I have been searching for a router with maximum covering range. Then I have seen this router, I have contacted the asus customer care for the covering range. They told that it will cover maximum range.
When I ordered this one. The connection had made bit difficult most of the time it says cannot establish a connection.
When connection was made, It frequently gets disconnected with my wireless network.
The two antenna will not have a range. They cannot spread the range even to my next room with one wall covered. The antenna was 2bd and they cannot offer a good range also. It cannot give a coverage although I'm browsing with my mobile from the side room also.
Previously I have a D-Link ADSL 2+ 2730 modem, It has one 5bd antenna but gives more covering range, but this ASUS router did not does.
My suggestion is dont go for the speed, check it has what type of antenna range provided in maximum db they can offer.
D-Link, Netgear is best for INDIAN connections..
1 star for ASUS as it was failed this time.

I received this router today i.e. 14/11/12 only. First we talk about its packing, its came in a big card-board box. After seeing the box i thought that it very very heavy, but when i picked it up it i very light. Once I thought 'Kahin khali dibba to nahin'? Because this is my first purchase from 'FLIPKART'.

I opened the box, inside there is another sealed box wrapped in bubble sheet. I opened it, and then the miracle came out of the box, the router, adapter and RJ-45 cable. I setup the whole thing within 5 minutes on my Reliance Broadband.

It's signal strength is very good. The modem and router is on first floor and my room is on ground floor, I am getting full signals on laptop and tab also.

Right now also while writing this review, I am using this router only.

Good router......

I purchased this item on Apr 4, 2012 (OD20404200234) and received it on Apr 9, 2012.

This value-for-money 300Mbps Wireless-N Router has a single WAN port and four 10/100 Ethernet LAN ports. Setting it up for my parents' BSNL broadband connection was a breeze - all I had to do was connect it to the ADSL modem, open up device management (default login is admin/admin on 192.168.1.1) and configure the wireless. It doesnt heat up a lot; we keep it on 24x7. The 2 external antenna ensure good range - the modem and router are one floor below where the laptop is used, which almost always shows full strength. I also get full strength on my phone (a HTC Sensation), while on the same floor, through 3 walls with the door closed.

The unit appears to have been designed to be used mainly horizontally, but I recall seeing slots in the rear where you can hook it up to screws so the unit can be fitted vertically.
