Asus RT-N12 SuperSpeedN Wireless Router

Well, I bought this product after my fiasco with the Netgear WGR 614 v10 which I also picked up from Flipkart. I must say, I am impressed with Asus.

First, it is fully customisable without using a CD! Second and the most important part of all..... it is juts fabulous with DD-WRT!

The stock software provided by Asus is horrible to say the least. However, it does get things done. Mind you the stock software is very capable, because you cannot run this router in "repeater" mode reliably with DD-WRT.

I lost patience with its constant drops and finally took the plunge with DD-WRT. It has been a dream ever since. Reliable and powerful range and speed. You just need to set it up right. Almost everyone buying this is doing it for the sole reason that it can run dd-wrt.

Is worth every penny and performs well in LAN settings also albeit around a 10-15% drop in speed which is a let down but not a big problem.

Its biggest con is the very short LAN cable provided with it.

After my previous router's wireless signals failed, I decided to buy a new one. After reading a lot of reviews, decided to go for ASUS, and ordered this router.

The router looks super cool, and has quite an intuitive admin area. Although a little overwhelming at first due to the sheer number of options, you can choose to customize just what you want.

I am getting a great range as well, and where my previous G router would give very weak signal, I am getting strong signals on the new router.

Its a great buy and a great device.

It is an excellent router at a very reasonable price. Much better than other available routers. Setup of this router is very easy. In fact, it sets up itself. There are host of settings which are available. One can fill up Network key (WPA Pre-shared key) for a secure wi-fi connection in the house. The range and speed of broadcast is as promised. Overall, it is a very good buy.

And the quality of service from Flipkart is superb in all respects. I would recommend Flipkart to all computer enthusiasts.

Quite easy to setup and get a hang of this neat device which allows me to have multiple devices in my home log on to the wifi broadband - with unsecured, as well as secured connection options (through a WEP or a WPA encrypted key).
The system powers up quickly and the signal strength is very good to excellent even past 3-4 walls in my apartment.
