Asus USB-N10 EZ N Network

I got it delivered two days ago, so I can not comment much on how it works over time but I came here to help clear mis-information
After reading the review from srinivas I had my fingers crossed when I purchased this. This was the only adapter I could find which seemed to support linux.

It worked out of the box on ubuntu 12.10
I get internet from a local ISP which needs me to log in through the browser before I can use my internet, so I'm guessing ubuntu does a NAT routing.

I only had to set up an ad-hoc wifi connection on ubuntu, connect from my windows laptop to the network and then enable the internet to get it to work.

Even if it does not work out of the box for you, you can visit #ubuntu / channels for other linux distro support groups on freenode to get help from people there to get it working.

I can not comment on the range as my home is a small-ish 1bhk (around 400 sqft) and I can connect from anywhere in my home. (adapter is placed in one corner)

I use Western Digital Live TV Hub media player which is not wireless enabled, took this tiny beauty to setup the media player to detect wireless signal.Does its job really well, the speed is not much to be desired, but for regular browsing the speed is sufficient.

Although prolonged usage heats the device and I have observed some issue with signal strengh when this heats up.

If you have a desktop/laptop with no built in WLAN on/Off buttons then this is the adapter to go for!!

Works flawlessly with windows. but basically i bought this for linux machine. It was detected automatically on Ubuntu 12.04 clean installation. But the wireless network gets disconnected automatically every 5 minutes and takes 1 minute to reconnect. I looked for separate drivers but no luck. Had even more difficult time with Fedora 17. Installed its drivers through ndiswrapper but connectivity was very flakey. I'll say this is a no go for linux users. Windows 7 - did not find any problem yet.

I have been using this in my Desktop for over 2 months now, as usual the Flipkart service was great!

My system is diagonally opposite to my wireless router and I have used several Wifi adaptors before including Iomega, Netgear & bufalo; this wifi gives me 85% signal and the rest of wifi gave only 30% and the internet was very unstable with other ones.

I would recommend this WiFi for all Desktop & Laptop users; this is my best purchase of the year 2012!

i tried to share my desktop wired connection internet ,but this adaptor doesnt support internet sharing/ software access point. My main concern of taking this device was to make my desktop computer as wireless router and access internet via all my other wireless devices (lappy & tablet). it failed to do so. but i thank to flipkart for ther excellent services. i got my money back to wallet. TP link is good for internet connection sharing because it has Software AP built in
