Asus WL-330N3G 6-in-1 Wireless-N Mobile Router

I'm using Reliance Netconnect as the sole internet connection at home. I needed a router to connect all my android tablet and smartphone and also ps3. This router is just the perfect piece. It connects to my data card and all my androids manage to pick up the signal much like using a normal wi-fi connection. I haven't tried it with my ps3 but am sure it will pick up the signal fine.

The set up was easy. Just look up the manual in the given cd if you're not sure what to do. It took almost 20 minutes for a half-knowledgeable IT person like me to complete it.

The range also is quite decent as I still have a signal after moving almost 60 feet from it inside my house. All in this is the perfect router for those who are using 3G data cards. Now I don't need to subscribe to any wired broadband to get wi-fi connection in my home.

Kudos for flipkart for bringing in this router. And the packaging also is as good as that famous American company!

I have an EV-DO(BSNL) usb modem which works fine on my pc...but when i purchased my macbook pro I had trouble using EV-DO modem due to poor quality of drivers provided by zte.

I searched for usb routers to make my ev-do connection wireless so that I can use it with mac.ASUS WL-330N3G Looked like a great buy which was cheaper than other USB 3G ROUTERS .... though my USB DEVICE AND SERVICE PROVIDER weren't listed in the supported devices mentioned in ASUS website.But I took my chances and purchased it.

The router has to be configured Using the following settings for ev-do-
1-type 192.168.1.1 in your web browser's address ba
2-Asus graphics interphase will appear on your screen
3-click on 3g sharing mode.
4-select enable cdma2000 in enable hsdpa?
5-3g/3.5g usb adapter-auto
6-location-India
7-on ISP CLICK ON MORE DETAILS and use the following setting-
username-165
password-165
dial-#777
pin no-unique for every device-open the slider on the back...it's an 8 digit alphanumeric code written on the back
APN SERVICE-EVDO
ISP- Doesn't matter.
Apply the settings and enjoy!!!!!!

Quick Start Steps
1.Install the contents of the CD into ur computer
2.Connect the Router
i)first with RJ45 cable from router to computer
ii)You should connect both the USB cables to Computer from the router,if u wish to use ur computer as a power source
3.From the start menu of ur computer select WPS Wzard
4.It'll automatically configure wireless settings
5.If u face Problems in getting started still use the settings as quoted by the Doc in this review thread
6.Important settings being "Enable HSDPA?:CDMA 2000"& "APN Service:TATA"
Now i'm able to Connect my Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus,Galaxy Note,Dell XCD 35,Nokia 5800 & Spice Mi Tab seamlessly..

I am using Reliance Netconnect+ on this. It was pretty easy to set-up from manual. just follow 4 steps as given in there. Device is smaller than a generic nokia mobile and quite a good range for home use. And guess what, it will not be wasted if you give up your datacard subscription, beacause it also functions as normal router, access point, repeater etc. I love its portability. It also comes with nice soft bag for it.

For the original datacard setup, you only need to fill in this info, if someone is wondering:

0. Upgrade the firmware: Download from Asus website, unzip and upload TRX file to router via 192.168.1.1
1. Enable USB Modem?: If you are using 3G, then use HSPDA. if you are using 3.1 MBPS plan, use CDMA2000. Put ADAPTER to "AUTO", if your modem type/number is not in list. It works.
2. Location: India
3. ISP: Choose your ISP.

Click on "More Details..."

4. APN service: (automatically filled)
5. PIN: Leave blank. (For Reliance) Other ISPs: You may need to look at the back slide-opening part of datacard.
6. Dianl Number: (autofilled)
7. Account and Password: (As given in your datacards settings)

Click Apply, wait for a minute and it will show blue light on "3G". Blinking means connecting, red means disconnected, blue and not blinking means connected.
