THE AVERAGE INDIAN MALE (English) (Paperback) Price: Rs.151

The Average Indian Male is a book by comedian and India’s popular MTV VJ Cyrus Broacha.

Summary Of The Book

The Average Indian Male is a satire on Indian men seen from the perspective of Cyrus Broacha. He portrays the Indian male as a mama’s boy, the apple of her eye. According to the author, he is also a man who picks his nose in public and loves his mismatched clothing.

The author talks about why Indian men don’t wear belts that match their shoe color, why they spit in public, why all Indian men are generally short, and so on. He also categorizes Indian men on the basis of four different regions.

The book is divided into two parts. The first part is like an agony aunt column—generalized questions are asked by fictitious men and women and Broacha answers them. The second half discusses the psychology of Indian men, answering questions like why they are never on time and why they avoid walking on pavements.

The Average Indian Male also paints a view of the Indian society with its inbuilt hierarchies, the concept of ‘family friend’, and so on.

This book is not about gaining deep insights into the psychology of the Indian men. It aims to make the reader laugh with its hilarious takes on the cliched views of and about the average Indian male.

Trash

The worst book i have read this year..Cyrus criticizes others in his way of vulgar humorous jokes..I think time has come to paid back the same coin..For the first time he tried to do a serious thing in a joking way i.e writting a book and he has proved me right that he cannot write ...Worthless book.Gift it to your enemy.. he might search for a new enemy ..leaving you.in one word TRASH..

Cyrus!!!! The Doctor

As per the review, the book is not a riotous account of Indian men. Yes there are parts that Cyrus writes about in his usual tongue in cheek way, but that is it...

Buy this book if you have a long flight to catch and you are not feeling sleepy. This book is guarented to make you snore

Below Average Book by Ordinary Author

Quite a boring book, not worth reading. Nothing special abt Indian men, completely disconnected stories. Sometimes while reading this book, you feel like throwing this book out.. I'm never gonna buy any book of this Author in future.

An attempt at being funny

A book about Indian Men is not easy to write. We come with our own traits and mindsets and perceptions. Men in general are difficult to gauge (just like women) and more so are Indian Men, who are considered very unique. But obviously, have you met, ???The Average Indian Male???? He is the apple of his mother???s eye, thinks no end of himself, wants to dominate the world and farts wherever convenient. I do not subscribe to these generalizations. The book does sometimes and sometimes it doesn???t.

I picked up the book fully aware of the fact that there would be parts I would not like and I...

The book does sometimes and sometimes it doesn???t.

I picked up the book fully aware of the fact that there would be parts I would not like and I was happy I did that. It happens all the time ??? my idea of funny is not equal to others??? idea of funny and fair enough. After all, we live in a democratic society and that is what is expected. The Average Indian Male is a regular critique of Indian Men and their habits, their surroundings and how they would react or think in given situations and the fact that it comes from another man is quite heartening. Cyrus Broacha is known as the funny man and he delivers what he promises ??? a funny book.

The book is not a mirror of all Indian Men. One must understand that before reading this book. Indian Men cook, help in the kitchen, do not urinate everywhere and anywhere and are empathetic ??? no matter what percentage of those Indian Men. That doesn???t count. ???The Average Indian Male??? is funny in parts and almost had me fall off my chair while reading it.

Cyrus Broacha is funny, though there were places I felt he was trying too hard, however those can be ignored by the reader. My favourite parts of the book were, ???The Long and Short of Indian Pants???, ???Girls Bar Bar??? and ???Powder Puff Boys???. The writing is clear and colloquial ??? so that is a major plus for the book and also for readers who want and expect a quick read. I would give it only 3 stars because there were times I did not agree with the book, nonetheless it is a good read.

It gets better with each chapter...

Starting is a bit slow...but later on it just picks up the speed! If you can imagine cyrus speaking in your head, you're good to go.

Though I've been reading a lot of frat-ire blogs online for years...this book is targeted at us "The (Average) Indian male".

Its funny, sarcastic and wake up call for most of the men. hope this helps you better yourself ;)

It was a waste of time. He is better on TV.

It was a waste of time. Abstract text ( though like an indian male), but nothing to read about. He is better on TV. (View complete review)

horribly below average

maybe it's time that cyrus becomes serious about comedy. the fact that this is his second book means that people read his first. sadly i didn't.
it's is not really funny, somewhat like his show on television.
i guess he is too confident about his comedy which now maybe doesn't even make him laug...
