Bad Harvest Analyzes the environmental effects the timber trade is having on forests - boreal, temperate and tropical - and considers the policies necessary to limit the damage. The authors discuss the changing nature of the trade and its effects on people working and living in the forests; the intensification of forest management; and the harmful effects of the pulp and paper manufacturing processes outside the forest. They conclude with a strategy for the timber trade which would help conserve the forests at the same time as being economically viable
