Very gripping and sharp plot, superb acting by Prosenjit and Goutam, very good direction and cinematography of Kolkata's dark alleys. A tollywood movie which can outshine any bollywood movie. A edge-of-the seat murder mystery, a must watch and must buy kind of stuff.
There are certain iconic images and notions that are traditionally identified with the quintessentially "Bong". They include poetry & song, romantic ideas, and stories about crime & detection (Feluda and Byomkesh have entered our DNA for good, at least in our love for murder-mysteris). This movei, released during the Durga Puja festivities in 2011, became an instant hit, because despite handling certain 'taboo' items in terms of subject & language, it had a generous mixing of all these 3 elements. Even after repeat viweing, and time allowing us to identify some of the glaring holes in the plot, the movie stuns us with its loving montage of the Kolkata nights, poetry, and Prasenjit's acting that heats up every scene when he is there. Awesome, and recommended!
Thank you Srijit for making a movie for the Bengali of the 2010. This presents Kolkata in all it's beauty and grime and effortlessly travels across both. The movie will want you to take out your old poetry books and wipe the dust of them and open them.
The script is outstanding, the music is superb. I love the lyrics of the songs. The acting is excellent - Gautam Ghose, Parambrata, Raima, and of course Prosenjit. This is his movie completely. He completely takes over the screen and one is amazed that earlier directors just portrayed him as a pretty boy and never explored the acting talents of this man.
This is a tribute to Kolkata and Bengali literature. Watch it.
Srijit Mukherji is back!! After he wowed us in “Autograph”, He Does it again with 22 Shey Srabon. This time it’s a real thriller and he has done it much better this time.
Great cast, acting, dialogues, music and editing. Above all a class apart.
Enjoyed thoroughly!!! The ending is completely 'unthought of'. Brilliant acting and excellent editing make this movie a visual treat. The verbal abuse with a free flow of cuss words may be too unpalatable for a prude. Overall, a must watch for one to ascertain that Bengali movies have really progressed a lot and that Prosenjit is one of the finest actors of Bengali cinema.
