Vaibhav Purandare has done a good job of chronicling the rise of Bal Thackeray and the Shiv Sena in Maharashtra's and India's politics. He has managed to keep any bias away from his writing (a tough job considering Mr. Thackeray's polarizing opinions and actions). The author has listed the reasons and the events behind the formation of the Sena as well as the functioning mechanism behind the party. Would recommend this book to those wanting to know about Bal Thackeray's and the Sena's ideolog...
