Book: Bapsi Sidhwa This book presents an in-depth study of the novels of Bapsi Sidhwa, the first and the finest English-language novelist of Pakistan. It shows how shw has woven the three main strands-the 'Parsi Ethos', 'Partition ' and the 'Cultural Difference'- into her narratives centring around women. The Parsi, the Punjabi, the Pakistani and the American perspectives of life as projected in her novels, The Crow Eaters, The Pakistan Bride, Ice-Candy-Man and An American Brat respectively, have also been brought out with emphasis on the literary aspects of Sidhwa's art.
About Author :
Randhir Pratap Singh, educated at the Universities of Gorakhpur and Lucknow, has been teaching Undergraduate and Postgraduate classes for the last twenty-two years. He is presently Reader in Englihs at Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith, Varanasi. His areas of academic interest are British and Indian English fiction.
He has published several articles besides a book, The Novels of Virginia Woolf.
