Barron's New GRE: The Leader In Test Preparation (With CD-ROM)

I thought this book would be a good companion for my preparation but all it has few model tests and examples which aren't really enough.You may purchase this book if you have no idea about the new pattern of gre whatsoever.

Please don't buy this book. It is a shear waste of money. The book is just like a brochure/syllabus book only. From the book You can know what all things to study for GRE (basically syllabus).

1. it contain very less problems( serious drawback)
2. No vocabulary words
3. It don't act as a text book for GRE
4. It just a book of syllabus

My Strong Suggestion : Don't buy ..

Yes, the words necessary for scoring the best marks in GRE are missing from the book.
The also book showcases a big advertisement for GREedge.com on the cover page.
And this website keeps informing me that this book by Barron's doesn't have words list and advises me to join a course conducted by them.
All I can say is that this book is incomplete. But it contains practice tests.

The Quant section is pretty much same (as this section hasn't changed) much. But there are changes in Verbal and Analytical Writing section which author has explained nicely. The way he explains Analytical Writing is superb. Even the Official Guide does not do that.

I think it is a must for folks preparing for GRE .

The book contains enormous word list which is more than enough for GRE. I would suggest students to use another dictionary (like wordweb) as well to get a better understanding of the words mentioned in the word list. I personally feel the quantitative section of the book is very helpful. Mock tests given in the book should be revised since actual GRE exam has a little higher level than these tests.

Pros-
The book contains enormous word list which is more than enough for GRE.
The quantitative section of the book is very helpful.
Cons-
Students have to use another dictionary (like wordweb) as the book does not help you with synonyms & antonyms trees.
Mock tests given in the book should be revised since actual GRE exam has a little higher level than these tests.

If you want to refer any other book for GRE...go for it after you have finished Barron's GRE, this is a prerequisite for GRE to say the least.
