    An eye-opener for aspiring writers

I am done reading this book in just 3 hours. Its an amazing tale as to how a man working ordinarily in a company dreams of becoming a great and bestseller author. And lately, how he has to face all the rejections, fraud and complexities in life. I, being in this industry for some 2 years, found the book quite realistic. I would say hats off to the writer for attempting something that's risky. And I also liked the little humour thats imbibed in the book. Good work. Though little bit of turn of...

Enjoyable read, cut above most other Indian writers

What I absolutely loved about the book was that it narrates in a candid manner the new book-writing phenomenon that seems to have gripped the nation, from the perspective of the publishers, the readers, the reviews and from the standpoint of the author himself!

The anecdotes are wonderfully captured and narrated. the book actually makes you laugh out loud and is pacy. Being all of 191 pages, its a light and quick read which is easy to finish and totally engaging from start to finish.

Beaten By Bhagath! - Pleasant Read.

Often we wish we could take on the world with our passion and not with our 9-5 job. Many of us do follow the dream to make it a reality. Success, though, comes to not many.
"Beaten By Bhagath" is about a man's passion to make it big with his writing, albeit a result of his ego and encouraging line from his sexy lady boss, he wants to overthrow the big name K-10; a celebrity author and his friend. Its about the dramatic roller-coaster ride of a debutante writer and his book.

    There were times...

    Nice for light reading

Nice book that i would recommend to budding writers out there. The author has smartly weaved a tale of struggling author with good doses of humour in his story. There are certain slangs used by the author that i feel could have been avoided. The end seems a little dragged. Can be read once!

Beaten by Bhagath!: A Tale of Two Writers- Review

Sometimes, we all tend to get onto a path which we have never trodden upon. Call it the Road Not Taken if you will. This path is not necessarily something we want, but is a figment of our imagination, influenced by millions of external factors; befuddling us and making us take it up. It may or may not lead us to success, but definitely leads to one thing: getting hurt. Welcome to the world of BB, a debutant author, out on a journey to make his book a best-seller.

This 191 paged novel is Divv...

    A decent read

Sometimes when you see the cover and see the name of one writer who absolutely annoys you, you dont want to read the book. Sorry this was my first reaction. :D
But I am glad I chucked the initial reactions and read the book. "I am sure you can do a better job than Bhagath!" Haha! I bet anyone can. But can you become a better money-spinner than him? Thats the only question that needs to be answered when one is compared with him :D
This is a book I recommend for a writer wanting to be a "publ...

    Pick it up!!!

Beaten By Bhagath! A Tale of Two Writers by S V Divvaakar is all about the present publication industry. Based on a fact that everyone thinks they can write a book, wants a book published as soon as possible. This book gives you an insight on how things work and the struggle between the debutant “author”, the “publisher”, the “retailer” and most importantly the “reader”.

Author very well explains the current trend in the industry as “Invest less, Promote less, Sell less, Declare a book a flo...

    A Good Read!

When I got it and read the first 9 lines, which were written as a poetry altogether, given me some perspective about the matter I will be reading in next 192 pages. These were the likable lines -

    A Tale Of two Writers
They went to the same college,
Even stayed in the same room,
    One saw his popularity zoom
The other sank into depths of gloom.

Their books, they had the same grace
They ran together, the same race.
    One rose to the sky and became a star;
One crashed and burned, with a lifelong sc...
